Warcraft 3 is on the list of those games that we still enjoy playing today. Originally released in 2002, Warcraft 3 & Frozen Throne have been a hallmark RTS for the gaming community. And have recently made a comeback.

With the gaming industries shift into remastered older games for the new generation of gamers and hardware. There had been some hype about Warcraft 3 HD remastered, amongst the other blizzard classics.
Warcraft 3 Reforged has now been announced at this years (2018) Blizzcon, and said to be released in 2019.
What to look forward to:
Fully remodeled characters and animations
This is definitely something to look forward to. Even for its time, Warcraft 3’s models were basic. Having a fresh look would really add to the game. The only question is, how much will this influence the games system requirements.
Remastered maps and campaigns
Some of the best campaigns and storytelling we’ve ever experienced are now to be remastered. This is huge! And every Warcraft fan will be keen to replay these amazing story lines or experience them for the first time.
Upgraded UI and world editor
Not sure how to feel about the upgraded UI as it was already pretty decent. But given that so much came out of the games world builder, we can only imagine how many more hours of potential fun we will be having. Will Warcraft 3 once again dominate the casual games market with it’s custom maps? Footman Frenzy and Hero Defense anyone?
Remastered cut-scenes
These were a big deal, I remember watching these cut-scenes in absolute awe at the time. Having them masterfully recrafted and yet looking so much alike to the original will truly be something special.
Upgraded matchmaking functional
Yes please! Finding a pvp game on the current games battle.net system isn’t ideal. Especially given the innovations we’ve seen and experienced on other titles. So this will be a huge deal to people who enjoy playing online.
4k resolution
I’m still on the 1920×1080 display. But I’m sure many of you will benefit from this.
Rebalanced gameplay
Though the game definitely does need re-balancing and changes. It’s difficult to say how much and how significant these will be. The Frozen Throne expansion made significant changes to the base game, so much so that Reign of Chaos became less playable when it came to multiplayer.
Warcraft 3 Remastered Release Date
There is no other information at this point and it’ll be some time before any announcements are made. However, there is now a new website specific to the remastered game and pre-purchases are available.
